Contrary to popular belief (especially amongst children), money does not grow on trees. It's how we spend and save our money that determines how much we really have. If you want the money tree, the best way to do it is by good old-fashioned budgeting.

Good fortune doesn't come by a huge inheritance, but by how we manage our finances on the daily basis. Thomas Jefferson once wisely stated: “Never spend your money before you have earned it.” What a beautiful concept to be applied in a myriad of ways. We shouldn't need to work to catch up with our credit card bill. A good rule of thumb with credit cards is to never have a credit card balance higher than your savings account so that if it were necessary, you could always pay the card off.
“The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it in your back pocket.” —Will Rogers
